Looking for a way to give back this Thanksgiving while having some fun and even getting a little exercise? The annual BakerRipley Houston Turkey Trot will be on November 28, 2019, and you can register to run for cheap with .
The BakerRipley Houston Turkey Trot is an annual event that has been serving the community in this region for 112 years. Each year, more than 20,000 people come together to help make a difference in the community as the event supports BakerRipley’s (formerly known as Neighborhood Centers) efforts to connect families with opportunities to succeed through education, job training, economic support, and more.
The BakerRipley nonprofit organization strives for fun ways to serve the community and now you can be a part of this mission by running the race on November 28, Thanksgiving Day.
This is a great fun way to help your local community. You can now choose from a 5k or 10k race by and tickets are only $20 for the 5k or $25 for the 10k race. There will also be a 1k Kids Run at 9:00am. The race will be timed so make sure to put your workouts to use and run your best in this race!
10k Race
Racers will compete over 6.2 miles of Houston’s scenic Uptown Galleria neighborhood with ample distance to truly test their physical limits. As such, we recommend this race for runners who are very confident about their fitness levels.

• Race starts @ 7:30 a.m.
• All participants receive a medal
• Awards will be given to top performers per age category
5k Race
At 3.1 miles, this race offers a hearty challenge for beginners and an opportunity for experienced runners to test their speed against others. It’s the perfect choice for families and groups of friends with mixed skill levels who want to run together.
• 3.1 miles
• Race starts @ 8:00 a.m.
• All participants receive a medal
• Awards will be given to top performers per age category
1k Kids Run
This race across the Uptown Galleria neighborhood is the perfect way to introduce kids to the joy of running. Children 12 and under, along with a parent if desired, can get their first taste of running on this fun, quick course. There are no timed entries for this fun run.
• Approximately 1K
• Race starts @ 9:00 a.m.
• Suitable for children 12 and under
• All participants receive a medal
