ROWAN COUNY 69, FLEMING COUNTY 46 (BOYS)
Fleming County dropped a 61st District road contest to Rowan County Friday night in Morehead, 69-46.
Headed into the fourth leading 47-42, the Vikings outscored the Panthers 22-4 to pull away for the victory, getting 35 points and 10 rebounds from Mason Moore.
The Panthers got 18 points from Landen Lutz, knocking down four 3-pointers. Kaleb Flanery added 14 points as the Panthers dropped to 7-15 on the season and close out district play with a 1-5 record. They’ll now await their fate as either the three or four seed, Menifee County currently with a 1-4 record in district play with a game still left against the Vikings. If Rowan County wins that one, the two would then have a coin flip for the three-seed and a matchup currently against Bath County, depending on what the Wildcats and Vikings outcome is in their final matchup. Bath County is 4-1 in district play, Rowan County is 4-0.
Fleming County’s next contest comes quickly, hosting Estill County on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
