Chris Evans has revealed he is running the Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday 20 October, and has chartered a plane to take his fans with him. Evans has run the London Marathon five times, crossing the line of this year’s race in four hours and 48 minutes for Dementia Revolution.
Speaking on his radio show earlier today, Evans said he signed up to the Amsterdam race when training for London earlier this year. While Evans may have got his facts slightly wrong when he said, “Amsterdam has the biggest entry of any marathon in the world anywhere. They just keep taking entries. There is no cut-off. I think there is currently 80,000 people that are registered to run in October, Amsterdam. You can run a marathon or a half marathon” ( the limit for the race field is 17,500 for the marathon and 20,000 for the half marathon), Evans revealed he has chartered a plane to take his fans with him.
In order to go to the Amsterdam marathon to support Evans, you’ll have to bid on one of the auctioned seats on the plane. “We have booked this plane for Dementia Revolution. So we got a 62 seater plane and we will sell all the seats and people will bid”, Evans said.
Evan’s is currently four weeks into his marathon training plan, with 12 weeks to go before the race. Evans has previously described running as a “positive addiction”, his marathon PB is 4:41:06, which he ran at the London Marathon in 2017.
