Lace-up those running shoes and get on the road in preparation for the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors (ERRW) Marathon.
The marathon, which started over 20 years ago, is set to be held on March 8.
It will see runners flock to the roads of Edenvale as they take on the Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier.
This year the club will host the marathon in partnership with its main sponsor StaminoGro.
In addition to the marathon, a half-marathon 10km and 5km fun run will be held.
Entries will be limited to 7 000 online entries. There will be no registrations allowed on the day of the race.
Registration will close on March 2 and registrations can be collected on March 6, 7 and 8.
Besides giving athletes a chance to stretch their legs, the marathon raises funds which are invested into Edenvale by the ERRW Club.
Race director and ERRW member Sharon Holton said all the proceeds from the marathon are invested into charities and other organisations in the town.
She explained funds would be donated to organisations such as Scout groups in the Edenvale area, Edenvale SPCA, Edenvale Community Police Forum and bursaries at Edenvale High School.

Each year the club hopes to help those in need by raising funds through the fun run. Last year it raised funds for the Kidney Bean Foundation.
Jackie Allen, who is assisting with the organising of the event, said this year the club decided to raise funds for Rainbows and Smiles Trust, a non-profit organisation.
The NPO is dedicated to providing emotional, social and financial support to children with cancer, as well as their families.
It promotes awareness of early warning signs of childhood cancer and was founded in 2009 by Bonita Suckling whose son, who had a brain cancer called anaplastic astrocytoma, died.
“The theme for this year’s fun run is superheroes and community members are encouraged to dress up like a superhero for the fun run,” said Holton.
“The club wants to inspire the idea of community members becoming superheroes by helping children with cancer.”
Sharon said the club will make use of a recycling company in addition to members and volunteers to clean up after the runners.
Security for the event will be provided by Mamba Security and parking spaces, at Dowerglen High School, will be available for purchase online.
Sharon appealed to the community to be patient, accommodating and show their support for the runners.
“The event is for the community; the more support and money raised the more will be invested into Edenvale.”
“Often runners from across the country compliment the club on the atmosphere and the support shown by Edenvale residents,” said Jackie.
