GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) It’s race weekend! The 20th annual Cellcom Green Bay Marathon is taking place on Sunday, but there’s lots of things leading up to the race that both runners and the public should be aware of.
PACKET PICK-UP
All runners are required to pick up their packets at the Prevea Health and Fitness Expo either Friday or Saturday. Those who can’t make it to the expo can have somebody else pick up their packet, as long as they have the correct bib number.
The expo also features over 75 booths with the latest sports apparel, health and nutrition products, and free samples.
It’s all happening at the Lambeau Field Atrium and runs Friday from 3-7 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
5K AND WPS KIDS RUN
The 5K will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Titletown District on Oneida Street. Runners will then travel through the Lambeau Field tunnel, complete a lap around the field and finish near the Green Bay Distillery.
Awards will then be presented to the top three men and women in each age group.
Then starting at 10:30 a.m., the kiddos get to take off in the WPS Kids Power Run! The race is a half-mile long run for children ages 10 and younger. Runners will be split up into seven age groups, with nine and ten-year-old boys and girls running first.
All age groups will run through the tunnel into Lambeau’s stadium bowl for a lap around the field.
Kids under five must have a parent run or walk with them, although parents do not need to register themselves.
FULL AND HALF MARATHONS
Sunday will feature the main events of the weekend with the half and full marathons.
The full marathon will begin at 7 a.m. while the half marathon takes place at 7:30 a.m.
Both races will begin in Downtown Green Bay by the KI Convention Center, and finish at Leicht Memorial Park.

PARKING
Public parking spots, street parking and ramps are available for runners downtown. However, do not park on the main roads marked as “no parking” since they may be part of the course.
Runners who are staying at a hotel for the weekend are encouraged to take shuttles, which will drop participants off within a short walking distance of the start line.
