Sam up to the challenge with a marathon effort – Lynn News
Renegade Runners member Sam Laws proved he was up for the challenge at the Great Barrow Challenge over the festive period.
Laws completed four laps of the tough terrain, covering the marathon distance, to finish in an overall time of four hours and 44 minutes.
Twenty-four hours later, Renegade members lined up at the inaugural Cambridge Christmas 10k.
Newcomer Mitchell Bunn, 17, enjoyed an excellent run to complete the course in 23rd overall in a time of 39.29.
His mum, Heidi, also ran well to finish as second F45 in a time of 48.20.
Next home was another new member in Mark Moden, who registered a time of 50.50.
Not far behind Mark was Daniel North, who clocked 52.31, while Lisa Wilson was very close to her personal best in a time of 55.15.
Teenager Beth Moden, 16, had a great run to break the hour mark in 59.01.
Clive Woolnough, who has changed his life completely with running, ran a very respectable 61.32, as did Cassie Moden, Beth’s twin sister, who finished in 55.47.
At the Winter Trails 10k in Thetford Forest before Christmas, Renegade Runners member Lawrence Matthews had his best outing on the course, finishing 263rd out of the 443 finishers in just over the hour mark.
Renegade Runners is open to anyone regardless of age, gender, ability or club affiliation.
Their training sessions normally take place on Tuesday nights in the Walks.
